If you are a Coca-Cola fan, you already know that the flavor is changed. The beverage simply does not taste like it used to taste during our younger years. Do you have to be worried about the ‘taste shift’ of Coca-Cola? Of course, not. It has always been the strategy of manufacturers to make changes to their products. Think about it: Starbucks does not taste the same anymore. Likewise, the taste of coffee we used to enjoy in our childhood is not the same anymore. So, the point is that change is inevitable for every company. And when it comes to the giant beverage producer - Coca-Cola - there is no exception.
However, the taste shift of Coca-Cola has some health concerns in it. According to an official statement from the giant beverage producers, there has been a host of complaints from coke consumers. Over the years, Coca-Cola’s consumers have been grieving that the amount of sugar in cokes is overwhelming. This is where Coca-Cola has come into play. To eradicate these complaints, Coca-Cola has decided to make its beverages - especially coke - sugar-free.
However, this does not mean the cokes will taste totally sugarless. Rather, it is apparent that the coke-producing company has decided “to lessen” the quantity of sugar in its beverages. Furthermore, the statement also confirms that this will not affect the overall taste of cokes.
According to the statement released by Coca-Cola, the company has already tested the new taste of coke. “So far, it tastes great,” says one of the leading product managers of Coca-Cola. The statement suggests that Coca-Cola will launch the new tasty drinks in August 2022.
Where Does The ‘New Taste’ of Coke Coem From?
As mentioned above, tej foremost concern of Coca-Cola in shifting the taste of coke is a health matter. To counter the grievances of coke consumers, Coca-Cola is all set to make its beverages sugar-free. However, the concept of making coke a sugar-free beverage is interesting. It is made of marshmallows and inspired by McDonald's.
In the early days of Coca-Cola, it was popular for the Tabs and Honest Teas. Later on, it turned out that these beverages were not friendly for sugar patients - since they had an enormous amount of sugar in them. There was a public outroar about these products as well. That is why the beverage giant has decided to discontinue them and launch a more health-friendly beverage with zero sugar.
Nevertheless, it is pertinent to note that the ‘new’ cokes - with zero sugar - will be available from August 2022. The company will run a test for a brief time span. And if it performs well, it will be expanded to other countries later. Until then, we can sit back and wait for how it goes in the United States. If it goes as expected, coke consumers across the globe can enjoy a sugar-free beverage.
