Country legend Dolly Parton is the gift that just keeps on giving. Now, the famed performer has teamed up with food brand Duncan Hines to release a Parton-approved line of cake mix and frosting flavors! Read on to see how you can pick up these fantastic-sounding sweet treats...
Dolly Parton and Duncan Hines Team Up
While country singer Dolly Parton may have just celebrated her 76th birthday, it's her who decided to give the world a gift. On January 26, the "Jolene" singer posted a sweet update on her social media channels. "I couldn't wait to share this sweet surprise," Parton captioned a photo of herself baking. "Duncan Hines and I are whipping up some Southern love with my limited-edition Baking Collection kits with my favorite flavors, Coconut and Banana Puddin'. Can't wait for y'all to try it!" She ended the announcement with a cake and yellow heart emoji.
Of course, fans know that Parton has always loved baking. "I have always loved to cook and, growing up in the South, I especially love that authentic Mom and Pop kind of cooking," the 76-year-old said in a recent interview. "Baking was no different. My Mama, my grandmothers, and my aunts were all wonderful bakers. They taught me everything I know, from biscuits and gravy to chocolate cake."
As soon as the announcement hit the internet, Parton's fans could hardly contain their excitement...
Fans' Reactions
While fans of America said they couldn't wait to buy it, others from around the world wondered when the Parton-Hines team-up would hit their shores. "[IT'S] THE MOST EXCITING," influencer Sarah Nicole Landry commented, asking when Hines would bring the cake mix to Canada. Likewise, another fan commented: "Please tell me we can get these in the UK Dearest Dolly?!"
Do you want to pick up this delicious collaboration? Well, we have good news and bad news. The bad news? While some quick-fingered fans managed to pick up the baking kits for $40 on the Duncan Hines website, they sold out within an hour. That's right! The good news is, Duncan Hines plans to produce another batch of them, and you can sign up on the company website for details on the next launch.
Alternatively, you can just wait until March, when the cake mixes and frostings will be available independently at many grocery stores across the country.
