In case you didn't know, plant-based meat sales are currently plummeting. However, that has not stopped Impossible Foods from starting yet another endeavor: owning, opening, and operating its own planet-based restaurant. Well, sort of...
Impossible Foods – A New Evolution
As stated, plant-based meat sales are not doing so hot right now. But, Impossible Foods hopes to turn that around by opening up the "Impossible Food Shop." What is the Impossible Food Shop, you ask? Well, it's a "delivery-only menu prepared in the kitchens of Dog Haus restaurants." While it's not a full-blown restaurant, it's certainly a strong start!
We should make it very clear: you can't just head to your local Dog Haus, a famed nationwide hot dog chain (and the first restaurant to partner with Impossible Foods back in 2018), and order these new Impossible items. Instead, Impossible will share the kitchen with Dog Haus, also known as a ghost kitchen. As such, the Impossible Food Shop menu will be available for delivery or pickup via apps like PostMates, GrubHub, DoorDash, and Uber Eats, among others, but not dine-in.
For now, the small, inaugural menu will debut in California, to see if it's worth expanding the Impossible Food Shop to the rest of the country. However, while the menu might only include six items, they sure do sound tasty!
The Impossible Shop: Six New Plant-Based Items
So what will the Impossible Shop serve? Well, think of a menu reminiscent of a great Friday night out with friends - but plant-based! For instance, just some of the items included loaded French fries with Impossible Chili and a plant-based cheese sauce, as well as Impossible's chicken nuggets, served with "sticky sesame sauce."
Of course, no plant-based menu is complete without a few burgers as well! These include a traditional burger (with or without plant-based cheese), a plant-based chili cheeseburger, and a strange creation known as the Impossible Pat-B Melt, which, in addition to the Impossible Burger, includes "cola-caramelized onions!" More of a morning person? Don't worry, you won't be left out! The Impossible Shop also has an Impossible Breakfast Sausage Burrito featuring Impossible Sausage, tater tots, plant-based eggs and cheese, and avocado. And the avocado isn't extra - that's right!
But the best part of all? "Every menu item is delicious, packed with nutrients, and better for the planet," Impossible Foods explains on the Shop website. So you can feel good about ordering these mouth-watering dishes! Don't live in California? Well, while the Impossible Shop might not have come to your state yet, but there's good news! Impossible Food products are available in every state at over 10,000 restaurants and grocery stores. So you can make your own plant-based meals at home!
