What Is Metaverse?
Before diving into the number of food companies and their trademarks, let's talk about the metaverse and what it exactly is. Generally, the metaverse is defined as the hypothetical iteration of the internet being the universal, immersive, and single virtual world, which would be developed with the help of virtual reality, and augmented reality headsets. The main goal of the metaverse is to focus on building a social connection. The users of the metaverse will traverse into a virtual world that mimics the real physical world with the help of virtual reality, social media, digital currency, and AI.

Food Companies Applying For Trademark
Mike Kondoudis, a licensed trademark attorney, recently tweeted that Kraft Foods Group has filed a trademark for the iconic wiener mobile, which is shaped like a hot dog on 12th October. The company is expanding its reach to the metaverse through NFTs, virtual goods, digital tokens, virtual food, drinks, and restaurants. The application also suggests that Kraft Foods groups hope to operate a virtual restaurant while simultaneously providing virtual goods for home delivery in the virtual and the real world.

The burger brand plans to launch an online retail store, which would provide virtual goods like food, beverages, and merchandise of the In-N-Out brand. Del Monte Foods followed up with 8 trademark applications for all of the brands that come under the umbrella of Del Monte. Now, the company plans to create not only NFTs but also NFT-backed media, an online virtual marketplace, virtual goods, and restaurants.
There you have it, it's the future of food companies in the metaverse.
