Of course, each state in America has its favorite Halloween candy. However, recently one man did a study and one thing's very clear: people in the United States love Starburst!

Every Halloween many around the country ask themselves the same question: what's everyone's favorite Halloween candy. Well, now, we have the answer! Job-hunting site Zippia created a way to know, once and for all, which candy reigns supreme come the spookiest day of the year.
“Using Google Trends, we determined which states were the most avid fans of each candy. We examined 50 different popular (and some infamously unpopular) candies, given us a range of candies that puts any grocery store shelf to shame,” the company wrote about their findings. “We, being sane reasonable humans, excluded gum from our candy list. Gum isn’t a candy. Similarly, we excluded raisins, fruit snacks, and other things people try and pass off as candy to unfortunate trick-or-treaters.” The reigning champ? Starburst, hands down! That candy took the top place in six different states, across the country, the most of any single brand of candy. Meanwhile, chocolate candies, Kisses, peanut butter cups, and the like, took 25 of the top spots, matching gummies! Let's take a closer look at the brands though...

Some states have some odd favorites. Connecticut, for example, prefers Peanut Butter Kisses, picking them over Reeses Peanut Butter Cup. Even stranger? New Hampshire loves Circus Peanuts! However, “Iowa may be home to the most candy lovers,” the research stated. That state almost had a four-way tie for Starburst, Jolly Ranchers, MMs, and Twix, with Starburst just edging ahead.
Zippia's research did not end there, though! “There is a reason some houses get egged on Halloween and it’s because they aren’t giving out treats,” they said.
