Monica Lewinksy
Of course, anyone around in the '90s will remember Monica Lewinsky from her scandal with former President Bill Clinton. After leaving the White House on questionable grounds, Lewinsky became an author, activist, and social media star. Meanwhile, she's also been one of the celebrities who has never married!
We don't know much about Lewinsky's love life, and there's a good reason for that: she likes to keep her private life private. "You can ask [about my love life], but I keep my personal life private," she told People Magazine. "I think people have known enough about my romantic life for a lifetime." While she hasn't walked down the aisle so far, never count Lewinsky out. She's certainly surprised the world before!
Ann Coulter
Media pundit Ann Coulter has undoubtedly made a name for herself, thanks to her outspoken role as a best-selling author and political commentator. However, something you might not know about Coulter is that she's never married and loves the single life!
While Coulter has never explained why she's never married, fans have their own ideas. You see, she's been engaged multiple times in the past, to the likes of Spin founder Bob Guccione Jr. and conservative writer Dinesh D'Souza, but they have never led to a walk down the aisle. So, it seems the 59-year-old has simply not found the right one yet!
Charlize Theron
Almost everyone knows Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron as one of the most famous actresses in Hollywood. But you might not know that she thinks little of marriage. "Marriage to me is not that important. I want to have a partner and have a monogamous long-term relationship, I really do. But I don't need to have a wedding," she explained to Vogue in 2014. "My heart and my life and how I am with that guy is going to be exactly the same... Let's put it this way: I never had the dream of the white dress."
Most recently, Theron was in a nine-year relationship with Stuart Townsend. Sadly, the two parted ways in 2010. Since then, the actress has put her mothering skills to the test by adopting two children, Jackson, 6, and August, 2.
Sheryl Crow
Beloved songwriter Sheryl Crow has enjoyed some very high-profile relationships over the years. Since becoming famous, she's dated the likes of Lance Armstrong, Eric Clapton, and Owen Wilson. But none of them had led to marriage. But that's not because Crow doesn't want to!
"I would love to get married – I'm still old-fashioned. But I don't think marriage is the be-all and end-all," Crow told Good Housekeeping back in 2014. "It's better to have three broken engagements than three divorces." Still, Crow shouldn't worry! She's 59-years-old and has plenty of time to find the right person to settle down with.
Lucy Liu
Iconic actress Lucy Liu has remained a famous face in Hollywood since the '90s, thanks to movies like Charlie's Angeles and Kill Bill: Volume 1. However, behind the scenes, while Liu is one of the many Hollywood stars who loves the single life. But that doesn't mean she hasn't enjoyed a historic love life!
Over the years, Liu has been connected to everyone from actor George Clooney and billionaire Noam Gottesman. However, much to the frustration of the tabloids, Liu keeps a tight lid on her romantic life. And the single life did not stop Liu from having a child herself! "It just seemed like the right option for me because I was working and I didn't know when I was going to be able to stop," Liu told People Magazine. "I decided that was probably the best solution for me, and it turned out to be great."
Chelsea Handler
No doubt about it, Chelsea Handler is a woman of many talents. From stand-up comedy and talk show hosting to writing and producing, she's done it all! While, thanks to her multi-show deal with Netflix, Handler has more free time than ever before, she has still yet to find the right person to settle down with.
Still, that has not stopped Handler from looking for her dream man! In recent years, the comedian has dated the likes of TV executive Ted Harbert, hotelier Andre Balazs, rapper 50 Cent, and animal trainer Dave Salmoni. Today, however, she remains happily single.
Diane Keaton
Sadly, while Diane Keaton has one of the most successful careers in Hollywood, her love life has not endured the same levels of prosperity. Despite some of the most high-profile relationships ever, marriage bells never rang for Keaton. Many years ago, the Godfather actress wanted to marry her co-star and former boyfriend, Al Pacino, but it didn't work out.
"He was even less inclined to be realistic than me," Keaton later said. "And I was on the cusp of being very old. So that poor guy. I don't think he was really that interested. And I don't think a long-term happy marriage would be easy for him." However, Keaton is proof you don't need to be married to raise children or be happy on your own! The actress loves her life with her two children: son Duke and daughter Dexter.
Tyra Banks
Believe it or not, Tyra Banks is another successful celebrity who has never tied the not. However, considering her incredibly hectic schedule, it makes some sense. After all, Banks has a long list of jobs: TV host, businesswoman, author, actress, and content producer - just to name a few! She still models as well, gracing the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover in 2019.
However, it seems that all could change soon enough. While Banks recently confirmed that she's "not engaged," reports say that she and her boyfriend, Candian businessman Louis Bélanger-Martin, are getting very serious. So we will need to wait and listen for wedding bells!
Camilla Cabello
There are artists who know how to make songs which forever get stuck in our minds. Camilla Cabello is certainly one of those. One thing is for certain however and that is that she won't let anyone get all too stuck in her mind. Cabello is seeing Canadian singer Shawn Mendes and has been doing so for quite sometime, but in her view she will have her career as her primary focus.
Mendes himself seems to also be focusing on his career and none of them have ever really uttered anything about getting married. We are glad that the two of them have been able to agree upon what is important in their relationship as such. Going forward we will see if they ever change their minds or if things stay the same.
Marisa Tomei
Since her early days as a star, Marisa Tomei has enjoyed several high-profile romances, dating the likes of actors Logan Marshall-Green and her Marvel movie co-star, Robert Downey Jr. However, sadly, not of those relationships, nor any other, has led to a wedding. But Tomei feels fine with her never-married status!
"I'm not that big a fan of marriage as an institution, and I don't know why women need to have children to be seen as a complete human being," Tomei said in a recent interview. So, it appears that none of the Oscar-winning actress' liaisons will ever end up in marriage. Still, we do hope Tomei finds true love soon enough!
Cher
Plenty of celebrities try and keep their love life under wraps. After all, private lives are private! However, iconic singer Cher feels different. She has no problem talking about her relationships and thoughts on them. During many recent interviews, Cher has admitted that, despite marriages to both Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman, she's never felt like the marrying type. But that hasn't stopped her from still looking!
“I am ready to let love back into my life, although I never think it’s a good idea to look for it. It finds you," Cher explained. Fans are looking forward to the famed singer finding the right one, though! Of course, not all celebs stay single year after year - some are happily married for many years! Click "Next" below to see the celebrity couples that make us believe in true love...
Rachel Maddow
It probably comes as no surprise, but many journalists are too busy to marry! Rachel Maddow is one of the most TV anchors who has yet to walk down the aisle. But it isn't because she's still searching - Maddow has been in the same relationship for decades! But, these days, Maddow remains busier than ever, between moderating debates and her nightly news program.
Behind the scenes, Maddow has been dating Susan Mikula while in college in 1999. Sadly, for many years, Mikula and Maddow could not marry, due to United States laws. Still, despite the legalization of gay marriage, the couple has decided to continue life unmarried!
Kylie Minogue
While Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue has enjoyed many several high-profile relationships over the decade, she's another celebrity who's never married! Fans have always wondered if Minogue would marry; it seems she loves the single life.
While one of her former boyfriends, actor Joshua Sasse, sparked engagement rumors when he named Minogue his "fiancée" in 2016, the two split less than a year later. Recently, the 53-year-old superstar announced a relationship with GQ's Creative Director, Paul Solomons. Even though Minogue stated in an interview that she found "true love" in Solomons, the two remain unwed.
Fabio Lanzoni
In the '80s and '90s, millions of women all around the world wanted to marry Fabio Lanzoni. After all, he was a romance novel model, cementing him in the imagination of ladies worldwide. However, Lanzoni never settled down. While he loved the single life for many decades, that all might change soon enough...
"Unfortunately, I had this amazing woman when I was younger, and she left a print on me," Lanzoni recently told Oprah on her show Oprah: Where Are They Now? "[But now] I'm ready now to find the one and get married and have kids." We hope he finds the one he's looking for!
Jon Hamm
Similar to his famous character on the hit show Mad Men, actor Jon Hamm doesn't believe the marriage life is for him. When talking about his relationship with actress Jennifer Westfeldt, Hamm said, "We may not have a piece of paper that says we're husband and wife, but after ten years, Jennifer is more than just a girlfriend. What we have is much deeper...she is the love of my life."
Sadly, "true love" was not enough, as Hamm and Westfeldt split in 2015. "I don't have the marriage chip," Hamm explained, noting that his parents' divorce left a lasting impact. As of this writing, the Mad Men star remains unwed.
Mary-Louise Parker
While famed actress Mary-Louise Parker shares a son with her ex-boyfriend, actor Billy Crudup, and once almost married Jeffrey Dean Morgan, she has never walked down the aisle. In fact, it seems that Parker does not need a husband, after adopting her own daughter in 2007 and raising her right.
"Maybe a psychiatrist would say I'm not married now because I have some sort of father thing. But you know what? That would be the least of my problems," Parker said. As Parker seems like a great mom, we think that she has no problems to worry about!
Adrien Brody
At 48-years-old, Oscar winner Adrien Brody has still yet to tie the knot. While he's dated some serious A-listers, like January Jones, Tori Amos, Elsa Pataky, and Keira Knight, it's simply never worked out. For a while, it seemed that he would marry Michelle Dupont, a music industry personal assistant, especially after they attended the 2003 Oscars together. Sadly, they parted ways just a little while later.
Now, Brody has started dating Georgina Chapman, the former wife of disgraced media mogul Harvey Weinstein. Will this lead to the wedding aisle? Only time will tell! "She thinks he's unusual and interesting," a source told People Magazine. "She finds [him] to be an interesting person with a deep passion for his work that is similar to hers."
Kristin Davis
Given her marriage-obsessed character Sex and the City Charlotte, many fans think that actress Kristen Davis also wants to settle down soon. However, that could not be further from the truth! Davis says she's often too busy for relationships and loves the single life!
"[In my twenties], I thought I'd never get married. Guess I was right! I grew up in the south, so all everyone talked about was marriage. But all I wanted was to move to New York and do theater. And in my thirties, I was busy doing the show, so I just didn't have time," Davis said recently. Today, the actress keeps herself busy with work and single motherhood. She has two adopted children, Gemma and her one-year-old son, whose name she has yet to reveal.
Winona Ryder
Of course, many of beloved star Winona Ryder's relationships have become tabloid fodder. However, despite a few broken engagements, Ryder says she has no problems with the way things turned out.
"I'd rather never have been married than been divorced a few times," Ryder explained to The Edit in 2016. "Not that there's anything wrong with divorce, but I don't think I could do it if that was a possibility. When your parents are madly in love for 45 years, your standards are really high. But I've been happily with someone for quite a while now." That might explain why Ryder has never married her partner since 2011, fashion designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn.
Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russel
For anyone who doesn't know, actress Goldie Hawn had been married twice before she ever started dating star Kurt Russel. That certainly explains why she does not want to do it again! Hawn and Russel met on the set of the film The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, but it took them a year to start dating.
Incredibly, Hawn and Russel have remained together since 1983's Valentine's Day, never breaking up once! Today, the couple has a child together, while Hawn is also stepmom to Kurt's son from a previous relationship. While marriage works for some, it seems that his Hollywood couple doesn't need it!
Oprah Winfrey
While she does not frequently talk about it, TV legend Oprah Winfrey has been in a committed relationship with Stedman Graham since 1986. And while they became engaged in 1992, they ultimately decided to call it off. The reason? Well, according to Winfrey, the reason their relationship has lasted is that the two never married!
"We would not have stayed together, because marriage requires a different way of being in this world," Winfrey explained to Vogue in 2017. "His interpretation of what it means to be a husband and what it would mean for me to be a wife would have been pretty traditional, and I would not have been able to fit into that."
Ariel Winter
For many, many years, Modern Family actress Ariel Winter had no plans on getting married. She was simply happy working on one of the biggest sitcoms of all time and loving her long-term boyfriend, Levi Meaden. However, as Winter recently explained to People Magazine, now that Modern Family has ended, she's more open to the idea of getting hitched.
"He's supportive, he's loving he's caring, he's a normal person. He cares. He's smart, he's talented, he's everything. He's great," Winter said of Meaden. "I definitely do [see us getting married now]... that's definitely my goal, long term is definitely my goal."
Al Pacino
At this point, legendary actor Al Pacino has remained a household name for over five decades. And during that time, The Godfather star has enjoyed some seriously long-term relationships. Most notably, he had a nearly three-year-long relationship with actress Diane Keaton. Since then, Pacino has fathered three children, Julie, Anton, and Olivia, with two different women. However, he has never married.
Still, even at the age of 81, Pacino will not rule out marriage entirely. “I never say never. It’s possible,” Pacino said when asked if he would marry his longtime girlfriend Lucila Polak. Sadly, after a decade together, the couple split in 2018. And while they never married, Polak’s daughter still considers Pacino her step-father.
Jennifer Aniston
Fans are rooting for Jennifer Aniston like no other. Of course, her relationships have included the likes of Brad Pitt and John Mayer, but they've never led to marriage. While she did wed actor Justin Theroux, it only lasted three years, ending in 2017.
Over the past four years, it seems that Aniston has decided to take some time to herself. While there have been a few flirtatious moments with Brad Pitt since then, nothing has materialized. Aniston must love the single life! Still, that hasn't stopped fans from desiring a Pitt and Aniston reunion!
Leonardo DiCaprio
No questions asked, Leonardo DiCaprio inherited the "Ultimate Bachelor in Hollywood" title from George Clooney. While fans have watched him date everyone from Gisele Bündchen to Blake Lively, nothing has ever led to the sounds of wedding bells. In fact, none of those relationships have even lasted that long!
"That time will come when that time comes. The truth is, you can't predict marriage. You can't plan it. It's just going to happen when it happens," the Titanic star said. Hey, he's got a good point! But, as he's been with his current girlfriend, model Camila Morrone, for over three years, things might change soon enough!
Sarah Silverman
Most of the celebrities to have never married keep the reasons under wraps. But not Sarah Silverman! The comedian has made it very clear: she does not like the idea of marriage, at all. So, despite some high-profile relationships with the likes of Michael Sheen and Jimmy Kimmel, Silverman has never even considered marriage.
"Just read that I wanna get married which is hilarious because I will never get married," Silverman tweeted, along with a picture of an untrue tabloid story. "Why would the government involved in my love life? Ew. It's barbaric." Well, that certainly clears things up!
Cote de Pablo
Some celebrities never settle down because they can't find the right one. Others love the single life. Meanwhile, some, like 41-year-old actress Cote de Pablo, simply feel happy with what they have. Five years before her breakthrough role on NCIS in 2005, de Pablo started dating actor Diego Serrano while trying to find her way in Hollywood. Amazingly, the two stayed together for just under 20 years. Sadly, it all came crashing down in 2015...
That year, the couple decided to call it quits, after never even so much as hinting at an engagement. Since then, de Pablo has remained single and on the market. We hope she finds true love soon!
Shakira
Latina music icon Shakira might be in a long-term relationship with Spanish soccer player Gerald Pique, but don't expect to hear wedding bells anytime soon! Shakira has never married and is in no hurry to do so. The "Hips Don't Lie" singer says that, despite eight years and two children together, she and Pique are happy with what they have.
"We already have what's essential, you know?" Shakira explained. "We have a union, a love for each other, and a baby. I think that those aspects of our relationship are already established, and marriage is not going to change them. But if I'm ever going to get married, he's the one."
Seth MacFarlane
Didn't know that Family Guy mastermind Seth MacFarlane never married? Well, it's true! Despite relationships with the likes of Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, Eliza Dushku, and Kat Foster, MacFarlane has simply never found the right person.
The reason? MacFarlane says Hollywood itself! "I'm wide open to getting married, but actors are not easy people to date," the creator explained. "You end up sharing that person with this other mistress that is their career. I very much like the traditional courtship method of making a date. That's what they do in normal places, but Hollywood's not normal." That sounds hard!
Matt Dillon
For many, many years, Wayward Pines' actor Matt Dillon stated he had no interest in marriage. And his constant bachelorship certainly backed that up. However, all that seems to have changed after years of living alone.
"I'm open to life now, even to marriage," Dillion explained to Parade Magazine back in 2006. "I'm open to the idea that things will work out. I absolutely value change now. I don't fear it - I accept it." Today, he's in a long-term relationship with Italian choreographer Roberta Mastromichele and has been for nearly five years. Maybe we'll hear wedding bells soon? We hope so!
Bill Maher
Comedian-turned-TV-host Bill Maher has no plans to end up married. Despite several serious relationships with the likes of author Karrine Steffans and neuroscientist Cara Santa Maria, Maher says he never wants to settle down. "I'm the last of my guy friends to have never gotten married, and their wives – they don't want them playing with me. I'm like the escaped slave – I bring news of freedom," Maher wrote in a blog post.
Maher explained more in an interview with Howard Stern, saying, "I've never understood, I mean I've tried to have relationships, I've been in love. But I never understood how you can be with the same person just day after day, week after week. I just don't get that."
Coco Chanel
While world-famous designer Coco Chanel lived in a time when marriage was considered essential for most women, she never wanted to tie the knot. Over the decades, she did have a few relationships, none of which led to a walk down the aisle.
In 1920, Chanel had a short-lived relationship with fellow celebrity composer Igor Stravinsky. Just a few years later, in 1923, she started a decades-long relationship with Hugh Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster. Still, when the Duke proposed, Chanel flatly turned him down. Reportedly the designer said, "There have been several Duchesses of Westminster, but there is only one Chanel!" When she passed in 1971 at the age of 87-years-old, Chanel never married or had any children.
Matthew Perry
Without a doubt, actor Matthew Perry will always be best remembered for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on the critically acclaimed sitcom Friends. While Perry has been linked to the likes of Julia Roberts, Lauren Graham, and Heater Graham, he says he has no interest in marrying.
"There used to be a feeling that once you were 30, you had to be married with children and a house… and here I am, nearly 40, with none of that. But I'm hoping that will change. I'm a pretty happy guy, who is looking for someone who enjoys having a good time. I'm hoping it will all work out for me in the end," Perry said in an interview in 2009. Still, over a decade later, it seems Perry hasn't found his one and only!
Demi Lovato
Singer Demi Lovato, who recently revealed they are non-binary, has been in many relationships over the years. They have been linked to the likes of Joe Jonas and Wilmer Valderrama, with whom they were in a long-term relationship. However, since coming out as non-binary, Lovato has made it clear that they are not interested in relationships - at least for the time being.
"I noticed that a behavior of mine was jumping into relationships with men," she explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "And sometimes, a relationship to other people, and especially to me, looked like stability, but that's not always the answer."
Tim Robbins
Of course, almost all fans will remember actor Tim Robbins as the main character of the Academy-Award-winning film The Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufresne. Meanwhile, behind-the-scenes, Robbins' relationship career has, sadly, been a little less successful.
For over two decades, Robbins dated legendary actress Susan Sarandon, and they even share two children together, sons Jack and Miles. Sadly, the couple split up in 2009. However, Robbins says he loves the single life and does not plan on settling down anytime soon! “I like my life right now,” the Mystic River actor explained to The New York Times.
Benicio del Toro
Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Toro has explained his aversion to marriage plenty of times: "Everyone says, 'Why isn't he married?' But it's like...why do I have to get married?" the actor explained recently. He went on to say that he did not want a wife or child to invade his space.
Over the years, Toro has had flings with the likes of Catherine Keener and Rod Stewart's daughter, Kimberly Stewart, with whom he shares a child. While Toro has stated he didn't want to become a father, he's proved a wonderful father to his daughter, Delilah. Still, he's never softened his stance on marriage.
Ricky Gervais
English stand-up comedian and actor Ricky Gervais has remained with his partner and college sweetheart, author Jane Fallon, since 1982. But don't expect to hear wedding bells anytime soon! The comedian has regularly stated that they will never wed because "there's no point in having an actual ceremony" and "we don't want any more toasters!"
The Office creator has also said that he and Fallon never needed to get married because they don't want children. "[We] didn't fancy dedicating 16 years of our lives. And there are too many children, of course." Hey, it seems that they have everything figured out!
Owen Wilson
While Owen Wilson might have become a massive star thanks to Wedding Crasher, off-screen he has yet to walk down the aisle. Even though the actor has been linked to the famous ladies like Sheryl Crow and Kate Hudson, he's never married. The reason? Well, Wilson says he likes the single life and feels pretty uninterested in marriage.
Still, who knows? Maybe his time will arrive one day! Or perhaps he's one of those people who simply loves the single life and will remain a forever bachelor. For now, fans keep a close eye on the tabloids for news of Wilson's love life.
Kimberly Stewart
Everyone is probably familiar with legendary singer Rod Stewart. These days however we have also gotten acquainted with his daughter Kimberly Stewart. Kimberly has a history as both an actress as well as having a quite interesting TV career. There was an engagement period in her life, but unfortunately it only lasted for a month before it was called of.
Kimberly these days has a child with an ex boyfriend, but seems to have decided that she doesn't want anything too serious for a while. Sometimes it is better to focus on one's career and leave other things aside. Real love will come sooner or later and there is definitely no need to rush things along.
Hugh Grant
For many years, it seemed that actor Hugh Grant would never marry - he loved the single life! Of course, that did not stop the tabloids from making their speculations. After all, before settling down, Grant had five children with three different women. That's quite the resume!
However, that single life did not last for long. In 2018, the British actor made headlines for finally marrying Anna Eberstein at the age of 57. While some claim that Grant married her for passport reasons, he recently set the record straight: "No I didn't, I married her because I love her," he tweeted.
