Kinsie Romero is a 33-year-old stay-at-home mom. She lives in Central California and is a former hairstylist.
After being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and hypothyroidism, Romero decided that she needed to bring a change into her life.
She lost 95 pounds after starting a fitness routine by following the keto diet and doing strength and cardio training.
Committing
Romero says that it took her some time to completely commit to it and that the clarity hit her in 2020 during the lockdown. She said that she knew she didn't want to feel sad, sick, or in pain any longer and that she needed to work herself in order to bring about a change in her life.
She had tried and tested every diet out there, and to her misfortune, nothing seemed to be sustainable. So she turned to a diet known as dirty keto, which is keto in addition to store-bought snacks. As days passed, she slowly morphed her diet into high protein keto, and now her diet consists of protein, veggies, and healthy fats.
Exercising
Romero talks about thinking that being at the gym was extremely scary as well as intimidating for her as she believed that she was the largest person in the room. She said that it was an eye-opening experience. She says that at the beginning, she knew nothing about working out, so she started with walking and the stationary bike.
Later, she slowly moved toward the machines that had instructions and pictures, and after that, she moved to YouTube videos. Her typical workout now consists of about an hour or a bit more resistance and weight training, along with a little cardio. Kinsie says that exercising has become a safe place for her to take care of herself.
What Romero Eats In A Day
Breakfast - iced coffee blended with protein powder or coffee with a splash of sugar-free syrup and whipped cream.
Lunch - sauteed broccoli and fried eggs with parmesan cheese.
Snacks - low-carb yogurt with stevia and strawberries.
Dinner - a Cobb salad with dressing and two large tuna patties.
Desert - heavy whipped cream with vanilla, stevia, and cocoa powder.
Changes That Romero Brought Within Herself
Kinsie paid close attention to herself and learned what her triggers were. She learned where the link between her overeating and search for comfort food is derived from. She began asking herself what it was that she actually needed. After that, she started finding alternatives for comforting herself with food. Instead, she’d take a bubble bath or go out for a walk.
She also gave herself permission to fail. She said that she was aware of the fact that it wasn't a matter of “if,” it was a matter of “when” she’d fail. She knew what she needed was a good game plan, so she decided that she’d give herself kindness, grace, and forgiveness in whatever case.
